Peixes sabem conversar?

Segundo estudo, cientistas da Nova Zelândia afirmam que peixes conseguem conversar entre si.

De acordo com o site do jornal britânico The Daily Telegraph, peixes de sexo oposto conseguem se comunicar por meio de sons específicos para alertar os demais sobre perigos existentes, além de fazer diversos ruídos.

Segundo o pesquisador Shahriman Ghazali, da Universidade de Auckland, da Nova Zelândia, os predadores caçam interceptando conversas dos peixes.

"Todos os peixes podem ouvir, mas nem todos podem emitir sons - feitos por meio da vibração de sua bexiga natatória”, afirma Ghazali.

Segundo ele os principais significados dos sons parecem ser a atração de parceiros, tentativa de espantar predadores e orientar-se em torno dos recifes.

O resultado disso foi comprovado em testes feitos pelo cientista, onde colocou um grupo de peixes em tanques de um laboratório e os monitorou durante algumas semanas, usando microfones e instrumentos que detectam os movimentos da água.

Com o estudo, ele verificou que o peixe gurnard está entre os mais falantes. Eles emitem grunhidos e mantém um padrão de vibração ao longo do dia. Por outro lado, o bacalhau fica em silêncio, exceto quando desova. “Fora da época de desova, você não vai ouvir um som deles”.

O pesquisador também afirma que o Goldfish (Peixe dourado) não emitem nenhum som. “O peixe dourado tem ótima audição, mas não faz nenhum som”, finalizou Ghazali.
